Corporate Transparency Act Update

The Corporate Transparency Act is back together with the Beneficial Owner Information reporting. The new date to register is March 21, 2025, but FinCen may modify that deadline before March 21, 2025, and may adopt regulations for businesses that are a low risk for criminal financial transactions, but do not count on it doing so.

If you have not already done so, non-exempt organizations must register. Exemptions from BOI was given to the litigants in National Small Business United v. Yellen also have a stay from BOI.

IF THAT OCCURS, WE MAY TAKE A BIT LONGER FOR SOME THINGS, FOR WHICH WE ASK YOUR UNDERSTANDING. OUR BUILDING ALSO HAS ESTABLISHED PROCEDURES DESIGNED TO PROTECT PERSONS COMING INTO THE BUILDING. ALL COURTS IN WHICH WE REGULARLY PRACTICE HAVE ESTABLISHED PROCEDURES THAT RESCHEDULE OR POSTPONE HEARINGS, GENERALLY, UNTIL AFTER MID-APRIL OR MID-MAY AND LEGAL TIMELINES HAVE BEEN ADJUSTED.
